The death of the believer

If Joahua ch. 4 is a picture of the death of a believer, then some interesting things emerge:

The Lord: the ark went before them. Likewise the Lord going before the dying believer.

The ark stood still while the people passed across the dry river bed. So He will be with us as we die.

The river bed was dry ground, not even damp . The people did not have to suffer being covered by water. So, surely, the feel of death will be painless, with perfect comfort and peace as we depart.

The ark followed from the river bed after the people, so will the Lord completely, perfectly carry us to His place: He will finish the process in this world. We can be sure that He will "tie up all loose ends" here before He considers our death complete. We will not have any lingering distresses in this world. We will be fully at home with Him before He seals our departure as complete.
