The free gift is a gift from God But what is it? It is Eternal life . So, what does that mean? Well, it means you can have everlasting
life instead of everlasting torment in Hell. So, what's this about Good News? Well, the Good news is that Christ died for your sins! But who am I to say all this? Well, they're not my words, but God's words. You see, the Bible tells us: "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Also, the Bible tells us: the Good News, "that Christ Died for our sins" Both of these quotes may be found in
the Bible: Romans chapter 6 verse 23, and 1 Corinthians
chapter 15 verse 3
Regardless of who you are, or how "good" you think you've been, you need to receive the free gift of God, because the Bible tells us There is no one righteous, no not one and all
have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. The gift of God is free because there's nothing you need to do to receive it. In fact, there's nothing you can do for it; the Bible tells us that nothing we can do can buy it: by
grace you are saved, through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast. For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. John chapter 3 verse 16 So, how do I receive this free gift of God? Well, it's just a case of simply telling God that you wish to receive it. It may help if you read the account of how one man did receive the free gift of Salvation. Below, I have printed some verses from the bible (which you can also find yourself in any bible, or download a free bible online), which tell of one man's receiving of the free gift of salvation. It is part of an
account of what happened to two apostles, named Paul and
Silas: (the
numbers simply refer to the verse numbers in the bible) |
16 ¶ And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. 19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, 20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, 21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. 22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. 23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: 24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. 25 ¶ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every ones bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. |
The above true story can be found in a bible, in the book of ACTS and chapter 16.

It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement. Hebrews 9:27 The judgement is just as certain as
death. Some people in terrible pain, or facing penalties,
choose to commit suicide. They seem to think that it will
end all. In fact, for those not born again, it is the
beginning of a far greater agony, with no escape, no end.
God offers eternal life as a gift, but this offer
terminates at death. Why leave it to the last minute?
Come to Jesus, here and now. You will never regret it. Sinners, turn; why will you die? C. Wesley
