Free Gift!

The free gift is a gift from God

But what is it?

It is Eternal life .

So, what does that mean?

Well, it means you can have everlasting life instead of everlasting torment in Hell.

So, what's this about Good News?

Well, the Good news is that Christ died for your sins!

But who am I to say all this? Well, they're not my words, but God's words.

You see, the Bible tells us:

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

Also, the Bible tells us:

the Good News, "that Christ Died for our sins"

Both of these quotes may be found in the Bible: Romans chapter 6 verse 23, and 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 3

Huh? will I go to hell? I'm not bad; aren't I going to heaven?

Regardless of who you are, or how "good" you think you've been, you need to receive the free gift of God, because the Bible tells us

There is no one righteous, no not one

and

all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

So, how is this gift free?

The gift of God is free because there's nothing you need to do to receive it. In fact, there's nothing you can do for it; the Bible tells us that nothing we can do can buy it:

by grace you are saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The above verses are quoted from the Bible: Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John chapter 3 verse 16

So, how do I receive this free gift of God?

Well, it's just a case of simply telling God that you wish to receive it. It may help if you read the account of how one man did receive the free gift of Salvation. Below, I have printed some verses from the bible (which you can also find yourself in any bible, or download a free bible online), which tell of one man's receiving of the free gift of salvation.

It is part of an account of what happened to two apostles, named Paul and Silas: (the numbers simply refer to the verse numbers in the bible)

16 ¶ And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, 20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, 21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. 23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: 24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 ¶ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

The above true story can be found in a bible, in the book of ACTS and chapter 16.

Christian Truth
The truth about Christianity

Where will you spend eternity?

Consider this:

Someone once asked: "What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" (Mark 10:17)

What an interesting question! Here was a man who wanted to do something to inherit eternal life. Of course, we all know that to re-ceive an inheritance, you don't need to do anything- -you simply wait for the benefactor to die. From whom can you inherit eternal life? None other than the lord Jesus Christ. It can be received as a free gift by anyone who puts faith in Him, believing that His death on the cross has paid the price for your sins, and that His- resurrec-tion can give you life. Don't try to do anything; simply believe and you will inherit eternal life.

-Warren Hagey

Christ has died upon the tree that form sin you might be free,
Jesus- died for you and me, oh, believe it! -

Consider this also:

O send out Thy light and Thy truth; let them lead me. (Psa. 43:3)

The long-anticipated weekend had arrived and Ted took to the air to fly a few hundred miles to visit his friend in a distant city. Some time after take-off, strong winds and ominous clouds made flying difficult. It was then that he realized he had not checked his all-important comass and radio. Just before crashing into a mountain-side, he wrote two words: "Off course." Make certain you are not off course on your flight from time into eternity, but may the light and truth of salvation be yours. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me" (John 14:6). Have you come?

And this:

It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement. Hebrews 9:27

The judgement is just as certain as death. Some people in terrible pain, or facing penalties, choose to commit suicide. They seem to think that it will end all. In fact, for those not born again, it is the beginning of a far greater agony, with no escape, no end. God offers eternal life as a gift, but this offer terminates at death. Why leave it to the last minute? Come to Jesus, here and now. You will never regret it.

Sinners, turn; why will you die?
God, your Saviour, asks you why'

The precious Blood of Jesus:

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
1 Peter 1 v 18 and 19

"The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1 John 1 v 7

Only ONE WAY:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14 v 6

Only ONE WAY:
Jesus Only, Believe only, God only

The Only solution:

Sacrifice:

From the book of Hebrews chapter 10:
"9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered
one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Devil, Satan:

From the book of Hebrews chapter 2:
9 But
we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10 ¶ For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. 14 ¶ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

From the book of Revelation chapter 12:
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against
the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

Acts of God; Act of God

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:8

"Dozens Homeless from Flooding." "Five People Dead in Wake of Tornado." Such events headlined by the media are termed "acts of God." Where are the newspaper articles stating that the gorgeous sunset yesterday, or the much needed rain were acts of God? These we take for granted. And what about the supreme Act of God? Isaiah 53:4-5 points us to Christ who was "smitten of God" when "He was wounded for our transgressions." You can take the rest fo God's gifts for granted if you wish,
but if you avoid this supreme act of God you will be lost forever. Come to Him today. D. Logan
